Shut Down
| 1. Ensure that the screen is lowered. | ||||||
| 2. Lower MAG to 5 kX. | ||||||
| 3. Adjust the BRIGHTNESS to spread the illumination to fill ½ of the viewing screen. | VIEW | |||||
| 4. In the DigitalMicrograph program, ensure that Stop View has been selected and uncheck Camera Inserted to move the camera into the out position. | VIEW | |||||
| 5. Remove the Objective Lens Aperture to out position. | VIEW | |||||
| 6. Toggle the Autoramp to "D". | VIEW | |||||
| 7. Turn down the PANEL LIGHT and turn off the DRAWER LIGHT. | VIEW | |||||
| 8. Cover the VIEWPORT. | VIEW | |||||
| 9. When the red LED on the Autoramp is continuously lit (not blinking), close the AIRLOCK. | VIEW | |||||
| 10. Using the rolling stairs, install the ACD Heaters. Connect the cables to the connectors on the ACDs. | VIEW | |||||
| 11. Engage both ACD HEAT buttons (left-hand drawer). The COLUMN ION PUMP will shut off and will automatically come back on after ~1 hour. NOTE: The left hand ACD is difficult to reach, making it harder to insert the heater. It works best if you push the top end of the heater assembly upward into the opening and then lower it into the hole. |

| 12. Return the ACCELERATING VOLTAGE to 315 kV. From the keyboard (right-hand drawer) type: | ||||||

12.1. KV START LEVEL, you respond with current kV setting, e.g. 200 <RET>. | |
|
|||
|
12.2. SET KV TO THE LEVEL, you change kV if necessary. | |
|
|||
|
12.3. PRESS Y WHEN READY, you respond Y <RET> | |
|
|||
|
12.4. FINISH LEVEL, you respond with 315 <RET> | |
|
|||
|
12.5. TOTAL TIME, you respond with 60 <RET> NOTE: Use at least 30 minutes. | |
|
|||
| 13. Turn down the CRT INTENSITY counterclockwise. | ||||||
| 14. Swipe out of the computer the same way you logged in. | ||||||
| 15. Close the lab door. | ||||||
|
