Initial Alignment
Gun and Condenser Lens Alignment
1. Resaturate the FILAMENT slowly. |

2. Set the SPOT SIZE=1, MAG=~50 kX. |

| 3. Engage the GUN button (in the right hand drawer). | VIEW | |||||
| 4. Focus the illumination to a spot using the BRIGHTNESS knob. | VIEW | |||||
| 5. Disengage the X 10 button. | VIEW | |||||
6. Center the illumination using the GUN SHIFT X, Y knobs in the right drawer. |

| 7. Set the SPOT SIZE=6 and focus the illumination to a spot using the BRIGHTNESS knob. | VIEW | |||||
8. Center the illumination using the SHIFT X, Y knobs on the main panel. |
VIEW | |||||
9. Repeat steps 2 - 8 until there is no displacement of the illumination with the SPOT SIZE change. |

| 10. Disengage the GUN button. | VIEW | |||||
| 11. Spread the beam using the BRIGHTNESS knob. | VIEW | |||||
| 12. Engage the X 10 button. | VIEW | |||||
